Every August 15th, the Aosta Valley pays tribute to its Alpine Guides, guardians of tradition and masters of the mountains. In Ayas, between Champoluc and Antagnod, the festival transforms into a vibrant celebration of history and emotion.
The day begins with a mass, followed by performances by the children of the folkloric group “Li Tsoque d’Ayas enfants”, dancing in their tiny wooden clogs and bringing old rhythms and genuine smiles to life.
The Guides, symbols of courage and skill, demonstrate their techniques by descending from the bell tower and marching in uniform through the village streets, accompanied by the Filarmonica di Verrès. The evening culminates at the Monterosa Terme Auditorium with the Guides’ presentation, the K2 evening with Simone Origone, and highlights from last season.
The Ayas Alpine Guides Festival is more than a celebration: it’s an invitation to immerse yourself in the history, passion, and authentic spirit of our mountains.
